Good morning! The kids are getting excited for Monday, and I'm excited to see all the different costumes for Halloween. The parade will start at 1:45. Please remember Spirit Day is on Tuesday, November 1. Wear your PJ's!

Students will have their Unit 1 Test for math on Friday, November 4.

Good evening! Students should write their spelling words in ABC order and complete Home Link 2.9 for homework.

Friday is Hat Day. The donation to wear a hat is $1. Donations go towards breast cancer research.

Good evening! For homework tonight, students should write a sentence using each spelling word. Also, students need to cut out Fact Triangles for Home Link 2.7. These can stay home since they have some here too. We will be working with Fact Triangles tomorrow.

Good morning! The students have been working hard these past few days. We began our study of bats and caves, we have been learning about ducks and ducklings, and we are halfway done with our model communities! We will be starting our Flat Stanley project November 1. 2s would greatly appreciate if parents could send in an address (or addresses) of a relative who lives in a different state. We can't wait to see where our letters are going to travel!

On another note, for homework tonight, students should read their Phonics Reader and complete Home Link 2.6. When your child has finished reading, please ask him/her questions to check for comprehension. Some questions you may ask are:
*Who were the characters in the story?
*What was the problem or surprise in the story?
*What is the setting of the story? or When and where does the story take place?

Good evening! We have begun the paper mache aspect of our community building project. If any parents are available Monday-Thursday, we would love if it if you would come and join us. We have Social Studies from 1:55-2:45. The more helping hands the better!

Good evening! Halloween is coming up fast and the kids are getting excited! If you would like to volunteer for our Halloween Party, either to help in the classroom or to donate a snack, please let me know. I will be sending home a form tomorrow asking for volunteers, in addition to the nutrition form that must be filled out if you are providing a snack.

For homework tonight, students should write their spelling words in ABC order. Next week students will have their first unit test in Language Arts. The time is really flying!

Good evening! Students should write 8 sentences using their spelling words for homework tonight. Scholastic book order forms went home today. If you'd like to order online using a credit card, please use the code on the back of the order form. You can also send a check into school with your son or daughter.
