September 26

Good evening! We will have our first Math test on Friday, September 28. Please look over the study guide with your child. The test is very similar to the guide. Also, in your child's folder are 2 order forms for Scholastic books. This is a great way to get free classroom materials because for each order received, our class gets bonus points and coupons towards future purchases! If you would like to order, please send in the order form by Friday, October 5.

For homework tonight, students should read their Phonics Reader and study their Math study guide.

Good evening! The students have their first Math assignment tonight. Today we talked about comparing numbers using less than, greater than, or equal to. When your child reads the numbers to you, please be sure he/she is reading from left to right, not saying the bigger number first if it is the smaller number that comes first. Students should complete Home Link 1.11 for their Math homework. They do not have to complete numbers 1-3. For spelling homework, students should write their words three times each.

Good evening! Picture day is Monday, September 24! If you were unable to attend Back to School Night, there is a parent contact form in your child's folder. This is for me to keep on file if I need to reach you. Please send it back with your child as soon as possible.

For homework tonight, students should use each spelling word in sentence.

Good evening! Just a reminder that tomorrow is Back to School Night. It begins at 6:00, and I am looking forward to meeting everyone. Next week is Picture Day. You will find an order form in your child's folder today.

For homework tonight, students should write their spelling words three times each. Please make sure that their homework is completed in their spelling notebook that goes home. Also, please leave the spelling pretest in the book. We will begin having math homework on September 24. Our Unit 1 Math Test will be on Friday, September 28. We will review in class and a study guide will be sent home next week.

Good evening! For tonight's homework, students should read their Phonics Reader to a parent or guardian. Please sign the form in their baggy next to the first story. Students should also read for 15 minutes.

Good afternoon! The Scholastic Book Fair is tomorrow. If you would like your child to make a purchase, please send in the money tomorrow. Please make sure it is in an envelope labeled with his or her name on it.

For homework tonight, students should write their spelling words in ABC order. We practiced writing the first 5 words in class. Please write the other words on the same page, making sure your child skips a line between each word. The spelling notebook should be returned each day with your child's completed homework still attached to the book. Please do not rip it out.

Good evening! The first day of school was a success and the students are excited to learn! Please check your child's folder for important forms that need to be returned to school as soon as possible. Our schedule for specials is:

Please make sure your child wears sneakers on days our class has Gym.
