January 27

Good evening! In Language Arts this week, we will be working on words that are spelled -eer and -ear. We are also working on identifying adjectives. In Writing Workshop, we are finishing our poetry unit, and we will be sharing our poetry books with Mrs. Hart's class on Thursday.

In Math, we will take our mid-year test tomorrow, and we will begin Unit 7 this week.

We will also be starting Unit 3 in Social Studies. We will be focusing on our country's past.

Good evening! Due to the snow days, our testing schedule will be as follows:
Jan. 23- Word Wall Test (LA), begin Skills Test (LA)
First review for Unit 6 Math Test

Jan. 24- Finish LA Skills Test for Unit 3, complete second review for Unit 6 Math Test

Jan. 27- Unit 6 Math Test

Jan. 28- Mid-Year Math Assessment.

Please remember that we will not complete an in-class review for the mid-year assessment. A list of topics to study was sent home a few weeks ago. Previous unit tests are also a good source to use to review the concepts.

Good afternoon! This week in Language Arts we will be working on the vowel pattern oo and ou. We are also learning comparison words such as hotter and hottest. We will also be working on summarizing a story.

In Math we are focusing on learning how to multiply using arrays. Please continue to practice subtraction with regrouping at home.

We will finish our space unit this week and learn about the planets.

On Tuesday, January 21 we will have our Unit 2 Skills Test. We will have our Unit 3 Word Wall Test on Thursday, January 23.

Good evening! We will be working on words with the /or/ sound this week. We will also continue to work on verb tenses and changing the y to an i before adding -ed or -es.

In Math we will be working on addition and subtraction strategies, and in Science we will continue our solar system unit.

We will have a spelling bee on Thursday, January 9.
