November 18

Good evening! The following list of homework is for November 18-20.

Wednesday-Practice Book page 87, Grammar page 43, Spelling page 35, and complete vocabulary packet.
*Our Selection Test is tomorrow

Thursday-Practice Book page 88, Spelling page 36, Grammar page 44
*Spelling and vocabulary tests on Friday.

Friday-Sunday- Students should have a rough draft of their 1930's report completed for Monday, November 23.




*GATE has begun! Students in the Gifted program will be focusing on Science this marking period. At the end of the marking period, students will choose a random item from my bag and create a new invention for it. More details to follow.

November 3

Good evening! It has been a pleasure speaking with parents the previous two days. The first marking period is over, and I am proud of each of the students for their accomplishments. Next week in Language Arts we will be starting a research paper on the 1930's. Students will choose a topic from a specific list. We will also be starting Unit 2 in the Scott Foresman series. Spelling and vocabulary lists will be sent home Monday. Enjoy the long weekend!

Good Evening! Today in language arts the students were introduced to the books they will be reading for literature circles. Each day the groups will discuss what they found intersting, new words they learned during their reading, and other aspects of the story they can relate to or find important. This week's homework is as follows:
Monday- Missing May chapter 1 or Bud, Not Buddy chapters 1 and 2 Use each spelling word in one sentence.

Tuesday-Missing May chapter 2 or Bud, Not Buddy chapters 3 and 4 Write a paragraph using at least 15 spelling words.

Wednesday- Missing May chapter 3 or Bud, Not Buddy chapters 5 and 6 Brainstorm 3 idioms. (Grammar) Write each spelling word 3 times

Thursday- Missing May chapter 4 or Bud, Not Buddy chapter 7 Write a paragraph using at least 2 idioms. (Grammar) Study for spelling test

Friday- Bring in a shoe box on Monday if your child is interested in making a cardboard village project.

Good Evening! The students are doing a great job combining short, choppy sentences this week! Tomorrow is the weekly vocabulary quiz, and Friday will be the Selection Test and Spelling Test. The rest of the week's homework is as follows:
Wednesday: Practice Book page 47, Spelling p 19, and Grammar Practice Book p 23, Read at least 15 minutes

Thursday: Study for Spelling Test, SW p20, Practice Book p48, Grammar Book p 24, Read at least 15 minutes.
