Good afternoon! December has flown by so fast! There will not be a spelling, story, or grammar test the week that we come back from break. We will be starting a new unit in Math that week. Students will be  adding 3 numbers, working with number stories, and learning how to multiply for the first time. We will also be starting Unit 3 (History) in Social Studies. Ms. Davidson will continue to use this blog for updates. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday, and I will see you in April.

December 11

Good afternoon! This week in Language Arts we are working on using context clues to figure out new words and working with r-controlled a in words, such as car, start, star, etc. We have started Unit 5 in Math. It is a short unit and we skip around a bit so your child's homework may not be in chronological order. We will be reviewing for our next Math test this Friday and next Monday. Our Math test will be on Tuesday, December 18. Also, please remember our Unit 2 Social Studies is this Thursday, December 13. Please continue to help your child study the material.

Good evening! 2S has a very busy week next week! On Monday we will have our Unit 2 Skills Test for Language Arts. On Tuesday we will be going to the Holiday Shop. Please send money in with your child in the envelope that was sent home if you would like him/her to purchase something. On Wednesday we will have our Unit 2 Word Wall Test. Please keep studying the spelling of those words with your child. A list of words was sent home last week. On Tuesday and Thursday we will also be reviewing for our Math Test on Friday, December 6. Study guides will be sent home. And finally, a study guide was sent home yesterday, November 29 for our Unit 2 Social Studies Test. This test will not be until December 13, but please continue to help your child study the material.

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. In Language Arts this week we will be working on words that have -ge, -ce-, and -se endings, like cage, mice, and tease. Please practice these word endings with your child. In Math we are working on estimating costs and temperature. Next Monday we will have our Unit 2 Skills Test in Language Arts, and on Wednesday, December 5, we will have our Unit 2 Word Wall Test. Please practice the spellings of these words with your child each night. A list went home last week.

For homework tonight, students should write their spelling words three times each and complete Home Link 4.4.
