Week of October 20

We will be working on the following the week of October 20:

Language Arts-spelling words with ending blends, plural nouns, nonfiction text features, writing narratives

Math- making 10 to add two numbers, adding 3 numbers, and related facts

Science-volcanoes and earthquakes

Wear red on Monday for the kick-off of Red Ribbon Week!


Our homework schedule is the following:

10/20-3 times each, math pages P57-P58

10/21-ABC Order, math pages P59-P60

 10/22-Sentences, math pages P61-P62

 10/23-Study for spelling test, math pages P63-P64

*Read 15 minutes each night.

Class Trip November 25

Our class trip will be on November 25, 2014.  I am in need of 2 chaperones for the trip.  If you would like to assist, please let me know by October 22.  If I receive more than 2 requests, names will be chosen from a hat.  If you are not chosen to chaperone but would like to attend, the cost is $13, and you may follow the bus or meet us there.

Homework for week of October 14

Good evening! Since we are completing our testing this week for unit 1 in Language Arts, the students will not have spelling homework or a spelling test this week. The following is this week's homework schedule:

Tuesday: Study for Word Wall Test and Math Test, read for 15 minutes
Wednesday: Read for 15 minutes
Thursday: Math worksheet (Lesson 3.1), read for 15 minutes.
Friday-Sunday: Read for 15 minutes

October 10

Good morning! DRAs are completed. If you would like your child's DRA level, please email me and I will provide it for you. Also, you can check out the site http://www.scholastic.com/bookwizard/ to find a list of books on your child's level.

We have a very busy week next week in Language Arts. We will be taking our Unit 1 Benchmark Test in two parts. The first part will be given on Tuesday, and the second part will be given on Wednesday. We will have our Unit 1 Word Wall Test on Wednesday. Students must know how to spell and read these words.

Next week in Math we will have our Unit 2 Test on Wednesday, and begin Unit 3 on Thursday.

We will stray from Science for a week, and we will learn about Christopher Columbus in Social Studies.
