Week of May 31

We will work on the following skills this week:

Language Arts-choosing between adjectives and adverbs, writing an informational text, reading and spelling longer word with the long vowels o and e, and comparing and contrasting two texts

Math-elapsed time to the minute, measuring capacity, and fractions

Science-We will learn more about the beach.

We will have our Unit 6 Word Wall Test tomorrow. 

***Book reports are due tomorrow!

Homework Schedule:

Tuesday-3 times each, Math sheet

Wednesday-Sentences, Math sheet

Thursday-Study for Spelling test, Math sheet

Week of May 16

We will work on the following skills next week:

Language Arts-writing informational books, possessive nouns, words with the /ou/ sound (out, found, etc.), comparing/contrasting different versions of a fairy tale

Math-estimating, getting ready for multiplication by working with equal groups

Science-sandy beaches, shell projects

****The Spring Concert is Thursday, May 19! Concert begins at 6:00. Students should arrive at 5:30.

**We will go to the Book Fair on Tuesday, May 17.

Week of May 9

We will work on the following skills next week:

Language Arts- We will work on identifying fact and opinion, words with /oo/ like "book", possessive nouns (the dog's toy, the cat's food), adverbs

Math- We will review on Monday for our test that will be on Tuesday. The first review is in your child's folder today.

Science-We will continue to learn about the beach for our MARE unit.
