Week of October 16

Here are important dates and happenings in the RTI classes for next week:

1st Grade will work on the letter F and its sound. The red words for October 16-20 are many, good, and friend. Keep practicing all the red words that are sent home. Students will need to be able to spell and read all the red words that have been given to them up to this point for their test that will be on Monday, October 23.

2nd Grade will work on the letter y and its sound. There will not be any new red words this week for second grade since they are taking a unit test in Language Arts. Students should still be studying their red words, and they will have to be able to spell and read them for their test that will be given next week. The spelling test for the red words will be on Wednesday, October 18, and the reading portion will be given on Thursday, October 19.

My two upper level groups will work on s and w blends (sc, sk, sm, sp, squ, dw, sw, tw) and breaking words into syllables. New red words for October 16-20 are around, rough, each, door, sure, and these. Students will have a spelling and reading test on these words on October 23.

Have a great week!
