We will have our math test on chapter six on Tuesday, January 24. Continue to practice subtraction with borrowing. On Wednesday, we will begin learning the different coins and how to count them. Chapter seven will also focus on telling time to the hour, half-hour, and five-minute interval. Please practice all of these skills at home as well.
In Social Studies, we will continue to learn about the history of the United States. Our unit test will be on Thursday, January 26. Continue to look over the study guide that was sent home.
We will focus on cause and effect, abbreviations, spelling compound words, and root words in Language Arts. We will continue to learn how to write a persuasive essay. This type of writing will be on the unit test that we will have next week. Please look over the persuasive writing review that will be sent home today. The students need to include every part of the writing to receive the full points.

Thursday-Study for spelling test, math sheet 7.2
**Continue to work on biography book reports. We will present them on Wednesday, February 1. If your child would like the 10 bonus points, he or she should dress as the person they researched on Wednesday, February 1.
